Neon Edge is a project developed as a programming exercise and challenge to recreate the core mechanics of a soulslike. The main focus was on developing my skills as an Unreal Engine developer, with particular emphasis on enemy AI and the introduction of unique combat mechanics.
Gameplay Features:
Movement: Switch between free running and strafing for agile navigation.
Camera Lock: Lock onto enemies to improve targeting accuracy.
Guard & Parry: Use guarding and parrying to block and counter enemy attacks.
Attack Combos: Perform light and heavy attack combos for effective offense.
Guard Break Attack: Disrupt enemy defenses with powerful attacks.
Directional Roll: Dodge attacks and reposition with rolls.
Wall Slide & Wall Jump: Navigate the environment with wall slide and wall jump mechanics.
Jumping & Mid-Air Attacks: Combine jumping and mid-air attacks to engage enemies from different angles.
Mechanics Focus:
Enemy AI: Encounter enemies with distinct behaviors and attack patterns that offer a consistent challenge.
Combat Combos: Utilize light and heavy attack combos, along with mid-air and wall-jump attacks, to enhance your combat strategy and adaptability.
Dynamic Mobility: Use wall slides, wall jumps, and directional rolls to integrate movement with combat strategies effectively.
